About the choir

Allmänna Sången was established in the year 1830 as a choir for male students in Uppsala, Sweden. Since then, it has become a mixed choir and gained wide acclaim as one of the best choirs in the country. It is also the oldest university choir in Scandinavia. Today, no formal connection between All- männa Sången and the university remains, but the choir still preserves some of the university traditions it helped create and is firmly anchored in the city’s student life.

You can watch Allmänna Sången's first performance of the 2024 ASAWCA winner as well as a presentation of the 2016 ASAWCA winner here below.
